About Us

There's nothing like the feeling of being in the ocean and realizing its power and beauty when you get your board and drop in on your first perfect wave. Open Ocean Surf Lessons & Camps has been introducing new surfers to an ocean lifestyle since 1990, Half Moon Bay California's first surf school. Our surf school has been owned and operated by the same local surf expert from the beginning.

You're in good hands with our instructors, because they are passionate about surfing, and hold water safety as their number-one priority with CPR and first aid certification. Open Ocean Surf Lessons & Camps is licensed and insured, and is proud to be the first company in Half Moon Bay teaching surfing.
